Components can be used to manage the templates stored on the Launch Control XL.
Components is a tool used to manage the firmware and Custom Modes for many of our products. There are two versions of Components: the standalone application that you can install on your computer, or the web-based version that you can use in supported web browsers.

If you are using a browser, you may need to allow the page to access your MIDI devices, as prompted when first loading the page:

You can get a template from the Launch Control XL:
Or create a new one from scratch - this new template is the default User template that comes by default on the unit.
Settings for the pots include the ability to set the CC number a control will send, the MIDI channel it sends on, the minimum and maximum values, the colour of the LED, and the LED MIDI channels. The LED MIDI channels determine which channel the LED under the dial will respond to from incoming MIDI messages.
Using either Shift/Ctrl or clicking and dragging will allow you to select multiple controls at once - this is useful for editing the common settings these controls share at once.
Settings for pads and buttons include the ability to set the control type (Note or CC), set the Press type to Momentary (press to turn a value on, release to set it off) or Toggle (press once for on value, press again for off).
Select a control to view its settings on the right, or click “Show Values” at the bottom of the window to see the value of each control simultaneously:
When ready, templates can be sent to the unit, or saved to your account or computer:
