My Launchpad is not lighting up when connected to the Launchpad iPad app

Applies to: Launchpad Mk 2, Launchpad S, Launchpad Mini, Launchpad Pro

If your Launchpad S or Launchpad Mini does not light up when connected to an iPad running the Novation Launchpad app you should update to the latest version of the app from the app store and try again. 

If you continue to have the same problem, connect your Launchpad via USB while holding the Session, User 1, User 2 and Mixer buttons [5, 6, 7 and 8 on Launchpad mini]. This will load the Launchpad in 'Bootloader mode'. Now press the red pad on the right to put the Launchpad into low power mode, Once this is done, press the green pad in the bottom right of the Launchpad to restart the Launchpad and it should now connect with Launchpad app and illuminate.

The Launchpad Mk 2 (with RGB LEDs) must be connected to a powered USB hub to work with iPad, the iPad doesn't supply enough power for RGB LEDs.

The original Launchpad is not compatible with iPad. 

The Launchpad Pro must be set to programmer mode, to do this press Setup and then press the orange pad in the top row.
