How to manually load the Circuit Firmware.

In the event of an issue while updating your firmware via the firmware updater, the firmware can be loaded manually.

Components: 

The first thing you can try is to reload the firmware of the Circuit. To do this, open Components, either Standalone or in Chrome, go to the Circuit and open the Firmware tab. Click the Circuit icon in the top left so it lights up green and click Having problems? > Re-install the Firmware

If this is unsuccessful you will need to try an external application. To do so you will need to download the Circuit Firmware (1.8) attached to this article. 

 

Mac

Download and install SysEx Librarian.

Hold down the Scales, Note & Velocity buttons of the Circuit then power the unit on. This will access the Bootloader.

Open SysEx Librarian and drag the .syx firmware file into the SysEx Librarian window. Click on the 'Destination' menu and select 'Circuit Bootloader'. Ensure that the .sys file is highlighted in blue by clicking on it. Click on the 'Play' button.

The Circuit should display updating LEDs. Wait for the update to complete then power cycle your Circuit.

 

PC

Download and install MIDI-OX.

Hold down the Scales, Note & Velocity buttons of the Circuit then power the unit on. This will access the Bootloader.

Open MIDI-OX, click on the the 'Options' menu and select 'MIDI Devices'. Ensure that 'Circuit' is highlighted in the 'MIDI Output' section then click 'OK'.

Drag the .syx file into the MIDI-OX window. The 'SysEx View and Scratchpad' window should appear. Click on the 'Command Window' menu and select 'Send Sysex'.

The Circuit should display updating LEDs. Wait for the update to complete then power cycle your Circuit.
