The Launchpad Pro MK3, Launchkey Mini MK3, and Launchkey Mini MK4 feature a TRS MIDI jack, which follows the specifications introduced in the MIDI Association standard in 2018 - this follows the Type A spec.

Previously our products had used Type B but as of the Launchkey Mini MK3, they follow and use the MIDI spec and use Type A.

Below you'll find a list of devices that can be connected directly with a stereo jack cable, as well as a list of devices with TRS MIDI jacks that are not to this standard and require an adapter. 

Compatible using a standard 3.5mm Stereo minijack cable:

• Akai MPC Studio, MPC Touch, MPX8
• Elektron Model Sample
• IK MultimediaiRig Pro, iRig Pro DUO
• Korg Electribe 2
• LittleBits MIDI module
• Make Noise 0-coast

A TRS Minijack to DIN MIDI adapter is required to connect with:

• 1010music (all devices)
• Arturia (all devices)
• MIDIPLUS miniEngine, miniEngine Pro
• Novation Circuit, Launchpad Pro, Circuit Mono Station (these 3 products use Type B)

These devices have different wiring, so an adapter to break out the connection to a 5-pin is required.
