Applies to Launchpad Mini MK3 and Launchpad X
Using Factory Custom Mode 2 will allow you to use the Arrow buttons in the top right of the Launchpad to change the notes an Octave (up and down buttons) or Transpose in semitones (left and right buttons).
Using our tool Components retrieving this Custom Mode from your Launchpad you'll be able to edit the Custom Mode with the desired layout to send back to the unit.
With this Custom Mode loaded into the editor, any edits you make and send back to the Launchpad will include the Octave and Transpose functions. You can drag the mouse and select all the pads to delete them and start fresh. Any MIDI Note, Scale, Drum, or Chromatic Keyboard widgets will be affected by these controls.
Attached to this article are two example modes you can use. One is a layout matching Launchpad X's Note mode when set to C Major - using the Transpose (left and right) buttons you'll be able to change to any of the 12 Major scales. The other is a Drum layout matching Factory Custom Mode 1 that can be used to play Drum racks with an Octave change.
