We recommend you use the shortest USB cable you can. We do not recommend using cables longer than two meters (6.56 feet) in length. Longer cables can cause connectivity issues.
Most Novation products come with USB-A to USB-C cables:
If your computer features only type-C ports, you can use a USB-C to USB-C cable (not supplied) to connect one of these products:
Older Novation products come with a USB-A to USB-B cable:
If your computer features only type-C ports, you can use a USB-B to USB-C cable (not supplied) to connect one of these products:
All cables should follow the same specification, but we advise you to buy from a reputable brand if you need an additional cable.
You could also use an adapter. If using a Mac, we recommend the Apple USB to USB-C adapter as they are reliable.
Older Mini products (Launchpad Mini and Launchkey Mini Mk1 and Mk2) use a Micro USB connector. They came with a Micro USB to USB-A cable in the box:
If your computer features a type-C port, you can use a Micro USB to USB-C cable (not supplied) to connect one of these products.

USB Extensions
We advise against using USB extension cables. These cables, like longer USB cables, can cause issues with audio and MIDI data transmission. If you use an extension cable, you may experience dropouts or simply no connection.
USB Hubs
We recommend you connect your device directly to your computer where possible. However, USB Hubs are often necessary due to computers not having enough ports.
If you require a USB hub to connect your interface, we recommend using a mains-powered USB hub (i.e. a hub with a mains power source). If you experience issues, we would advise testing different USB hubs to find which works best for your computer and USB devices.
