Applies to: Launchkey Mini MK3
The Launchkey Mini MK3 is supported in Live 10.1.1 or later so it will not function to its full potential in Live 9, but if you have an older version of Ableton you can use it as a generic/basic MIDI controller.
To do so, please go to the Link/MIDI preferences of Ableton and match the settings below, your operating system will affect how the ports appear:
You can then use the MIDI Map button in Ableton to map the controls of your Launchkey to the device/mixer of Ableton.
Features that are not possible without Ableton integration mainly include but are not limited to; Clip Launching, Device Control, Capture MIDI, Transport Control.
Alternatively, you can install the included copy of Ableton Live Lite for free for more advanced control - see this article for reference: How to install and activate Ableton Live Lite
