Applies to Circuit Tracks + iOS device with Lightning Connector
The new iPad Pro with USB-C ports can be connected directly to Circuit Tracks with a USB-C to C cable.
To use the Circuit Tracks with an iOS device with a lightning connection, you will need an Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter, which is available here.
Crucially, this adapter features an additional lightning port for you to connect a charger to charge your iOS device simultaneously.
This will also supply additional power to the USB port required to power your Circuit Tracks with the iOS device.
Important: This setup will power the Circuit Tracks, but it will not charge the Track's internal battery. To charge the battery, 1.5A 5V of power needs to be supplied.
This can be accomplished with the included USB power adapter.
Power Requirements for the Circuit Tracks
To connect your Circuit Tracks to your iOS device
- First, connect the adapter to the iPad.
- Then connect an Apple charging cable to the lightning port on the adapter itself.
- Finally, connect Circuit Tracks to the USB port of the adapter and power your Circuit Tracks.
- Using an Official Apple adapter is required, third party adapters are not supported, and are widely reported to not work.
Once connected, your Circuit Tracks will send MIDI to apps that support MIDI.
