To charge the battery 1.5A 5V of power needs to be supplied. This can be done with the included USB power adapter, some USB-C/USB 3 ports can supply this. If the unit is off the Power LED will be green to show that it is charging. 

To just be powered by USB 500mA 5V of power is needed. This is supplied by most USB 2 (or higher) ports. 

The battery will stop charging at 100% so that it doesn't overcharge and lose capacitance. The battery will last 4 hours under normal use and has a capacity of 2200 mAh.

The internal battery is not user-serviceable. If you are having issues with your battery, please contact your distributor or the Novation support team directly.
