When using the HUI templates to control Pro Tools, you may see the following message appear:

“Pro Tools is unable to communicate with HUI. Power-cycle HUI and check its connections. Note, if HUI is not in use, update the peripherals dialogue to prevent further warnings.”

If you see this message, then ensure you have correctly followed the Pro Tools set-up instructions in the DAW setup guide from the main menu of Automap.

If you're still seeing this, and you're using a Windows computer you may not be running Pro Tools as administrator (right-click on the Pro Tools icon before opening it and select “Run as Administrator”), which is recommended by Avid in their optimisation guides.
