Make sure that the Remote (or the port it is connected to) is selected as the MIDI input and output device in the Devices menu in the editor.

Note that if you are sending the data into the Remote via MIDI and not via USB. You must hold down the F2, F3 and F4 buttons as you power it on to get it into'receive OS from MIDI' mode. If you are sending the data to the Remote via USB, then you can put the unit in 'receive OS from USB' mode from the global menu.
