This is almost certainly a faulty power supply.

Some older power supplies have been known to fail after an extended period. This problem can be fixed by using the latest version of the Novation PSU. Use Novation PSU-4 or PSU-6 only (600mA 9V DC output, centre pin positive). If issues persist, the unit will need service.
