2008-2019 - Serial Numbers with Date

Our serials are the first to have a regular pattern. Each device's serial number is broken down into sections.

Example for an SL MKIII 61 "D598263000001":

• D5 = Unique Product ID
• 8 = Year (2018)
• 263 = Day of Year
• 000001 = Unique Number

All SKUs refer to base version- regional SKUs may exist (such as MOSC0003UKEU), in addition to 'DM' SKUs for B-Stock condition units (MOSC0003DM).

2019 Onwards - Unique Product Numbers (UPNs)

Starting in 2019, a new format has been introduced which starts to use Hexadecimal. The date of manufacture can be identified with the 8th (Year) and 9th (month) character. 

Example for Launchkey 37 MK3: "K300000160001:

• K3 = Unique Product ID
• 1 = Year (2021)
• 6 = Month (June)
• 0001 = Unique number

Using Hexadecimal means that A represents October, B for November, C for December.
