Please note that FLkey 2 is not supported on FL Studio Web
FL Studio should automatically detect your FLkey 2 and set up the control scripts for you. If you encounter any issues with this, you can set this up manually. A sign that this has not been set up automatically will be some pad modes not lighting up when holding down the shift button. The following video guides you through the setup process of FLkey 2 in FL Studio.
The information below shows specific instructions for either Windows or macOS operating systems and both Mini and full-sized FLkey2s.
Windows
FLkey 2 Mini 25
- Open FL Studio's MIDI settings by going to Options > MIDI Settings.
- Make sure both the MIDI and MIDIIn2 ports are showing in the input panel.
- If you do not see the ports showing, please make sure the device is powered and click the 'Refresh device list' at the bottom of the page.
- Select the FLkey Mini MK2 MIDI port and set the 'Controller type' to Novation FLkey 2 Mini MIDI.
- Repeat the above step to set the MIDIn2 (FLkey Mini MK2 MIDI) port and set the 'Controller type' to Novation FLkey 2 Mini DAW.
- If you do not see the relevant option, try clicking "Update MIDI Scripts" to ensure that FL Studio has been able to download the latest versions from the Image-Line server.
- Set the input and output port numbers for both the MIDI and MIDIIn2 ports
- The input and output port numbers for each port need to match.
- The MIDI and MIDIIn2 ports need to have unique port numbers.
- Port number can be set to any value that is not currently in use, except 0. Typically, using a high number will avoid any that are in use.
- The image below shows how the settings should look once correctly configured.
FLkey 2 37/49/61
- Open FL Studio's MIDI settings by going to Options > MIDI Settings.
- Make sure both the MIDI and MIDIIn2 ports are showing in the input panel.
