Applies to Circuit Tracks
While using Components is the safest and easiest way to send Packs to an SD card (via having a Circuit Tracks unit connected) it is possible to connect the SD card to an SD card reader and manually configure Packs for use on the unit. For SD card compatibility see this article. An example is attached to this article which includes the Factory, Shadow Child, and DLR/Sofa Sound packs.
It's recommended that you use the latest firmware as there are changes to improve support of SD cards.
In order to achieve this the folder layout must be done matching the following:
The easiest way to set this up will be to send some packs to the unit first, particularly for any Patch and Session data as this will be harder to set up yourself. The folders are:
- Parent folder named Tracks
- Subfolder with Pack name, Pack name must start with a number beginning with 0, this will be the second available pack on the unit, matching the display below:
Inside each Pack folder should be 4 folders:
- meta - contains an automatically generated meta file used by Circuit Tracks - just creating a folder is all that's needed
- Patches - contains the synth patches for the pack - this is best configured from Components. Patches are stored in 8 hexbanks and without manually editing them through SysEx there is no easy way to set this up.
- PCM - this contains the samples to use across the 64 slots - numbered 0 to 63 - can be as many as 64 samples or as few as 1.
- Sessions - contains the Project files to use in the pack - once again this content is much simpler to set up from Components - these are .ncs files. Files are numbered 0 to 63.
Audio content should be converted to 48khz, 16 bit Mono to be sent to the unit. Note that there will be no warning if you have exceeded the 60 seconds (196.6 seconds as of Circuit Tracks firmware 1.1.5) of sample time the unit can load. If using the 1.1.5 firmware no sample can exceed 98.3 seconds.
Sample files should be named "Number in two digits__filename.wav" so for example "00_Kick.wav" which will be the first sample slot.
