Attached to this article, you can find a demo project for Launch Control XL 3 to load into Live Lite 12. All you'll need to use this is Live Lite 12 and the Launch Control XL 3. This project has been designed to give a way to quickly try out the Custom Modes feature on Launch Control XL 3 when working in a DAW.
Once you have downloaded and opened the 'Launch Control XL 3 Live Lite Demo Project', and ensured your settings match our guide here, you can either use the 16th Custom Mode to control the project, or download the attached Custom Mode and send it to your Launch Control XL 3 to control the Live set with proper labelling and lighting.
The Custom Mode can be selected by pressing Mode and then pressing the Fader button for the relevant mode.
The layout of the controls is such that each lane of controls - 3 encoders, one fader and the Fader Button - affects a different track, starting with Pad controls on track 1, Bass on track 2, and so on. Check out the labelled Custom Mode to learn more about what each control does.
You can also use the Fader Buttons in the bottom row to navigate through the Scenes.
This should allow you to tweak the sounds and create a performance. Additionally, you can switch between this Custom Mode and the DAW Mixer and Control modes for even greater control of the Ableton Live set.
