FLkey 2 can be set up as a HUI control device. This allows a basic level of control over other DAWs that support the HUI protocol, instead of using the custom control script in FL Studio.
HUI Functionality
Below is an overview of the HUI functionality. Please note that in different DAWs the behaviour may slightly differ.
- Channel Rack Pad Mode – the pads control Mute/Solo and Arm/Select for the tracks in focus. The Channel Rack down button toggles between the two modes.
- Mixer Encoder Mode – the encoders control Volume/Pan. The Encoder Bank buttons toggle between the two modes.
- Mixer Inserts Encoder Mode – the encoders control Sends A-E. The Encoder Bank buttons toggle between the different sends.
- Transport Encoder Mode - the first encoder scrubs through the timeline
- Navigation – Mixer bank < and Mixer bank > move between tracks. Holding Shift and pressing the Track buttons moves between banks of eight tracks for all models.
- Transport Controls - These map to the corresponding transport functions in your DAW.
-
Mixer Volume Fader Mode - Faders 2-9 control the volume levels for the current track bank.In some DAWs, fader 1 controls the main output track.Buttons control Select/Arm. The Solo button toggles between the 2 modes.
