Applies to Circuit Tracks
To connect a MIDI input to Circuit Tracks and use the input to control something connected to the MIDI output, you need to set the second Output port to Thru in the Setup menu, as per pages 103-107 in the User Guide.
This means the MIDI data from the input is sent straight to a device connected to the Thru port, but no MIDI from Circuit Tracks own controls will be sent to the unit.
But, you may wish to have data from Circuit Tracks send to the unit alongside MIDI from the MIDI input. For this, you will need an external piece of hardware with MIDI merger functionality. Dedicated hardware for this function is available. The set-up would then be something like this:
This setup allows both the local content from Circuit Tracks (Sequencer, macros, and pad controls) to be merged with the data from the device connected to the MIDI input. This means that while playing live you'll hear the sound, and then also hear that MIDI back if it was recorded to the sequencer.
