Although Automap can control instrument plugins, it is up to your DAW to route the note data sent from your keyboard to the instrument plugin.

In most cases, the DAW setup guide will ensure that the DAW is receiving note messages from the default keyboard port on your controller. However, you may need to ensure in the DAW that you have routed the note data to a channel. In most cases, this just involves selecting the first-named port for your keyboard controller, for example: “SL MkII port 1” for an SL MkII.
