If you find sending of Packs to Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm is interrupted with an error message in Components, and File Explorer (Windows)/Finder (Mac) suddenly appears showing the Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm as USB storage devices. Then your unit may still be in MSD mode. We have seen instances where Packs will not load correctly onto units until MSD mode is disabled on the device.
Out of the box, the Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm will be in Mass Storage Device (MSD) mode. This means that when you connect it to the computer you are given a prompt to visit our Easy Start website which includes various tutorial videos.
You can check if the Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm are still in this mode from the Advanced Setup menu. You can enter the Advanced Setup menu by holding down Shift while powering the unit on.
To toggle the MSD Mode (Easy Start Tool) on/off, press the Note button when in the Advanced Setup menu. If Note is lit bright green, it is enabled, if Note is lit dim red, it is disabled.
Once turned off, you can exit the Advanced Setup menu by pressing the Play button. You should now try to send Packs from Components onto the SD card of your Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm.
If an error persists, there may be another issue present. We recommend testing the Circuit Tracks and Circuit Rhythm with all USB ports on your machine and trying different USB cables.
You should also check to see if your SD card is compatible with the Circuit Tracks.
