This article is aimed at helping you record MIDI or audio from devices in Ableton, and will be particularly applicable to devices with sequencers such as the Circuit, SL MkIII and Launchpad Pro Mk3. 

Both audio and MIDI tracks that have been input monitored are observed to increase the latency of the recording. This will affect a track that has its monitor set to In:

or a track that is set to Auto and is record armed:

The effect may be seen with results similar to this:

This means that when working with sequencers, you may wish to create an additional track to record the MIDI/Audio alongside the track you are you using to listen to the audio in real-time.
