If your USB-C Novation device is not appearing in Components, is not detected by your computer, or appears stuck in Vegas Mode (animation on the pads):
- Ensure the USB-C connectors on both your device and your computer's USB ports are fully inserted. If the USB cable is only partially inserted, that might be causing the device to receive power but not connect properly to the computer.
- Try connecting the device directly to a USB port on your computer, avoiding any hubs/adapters. If your computer only has type-C ports, you can use a short USB-C to USB-C cable. See this article for reference: Can I use any USB cable with my Novation product?
If you still have issues after doing so, check if the device is appearing on your computer according to the following steps.
Windows
On Windows, you can look in Device Manager to check your device is listed correctly. To do so:
Right-click on the Start icon > Device Manager.
Novation devices should appear under 'Sound, video and game controllers':
If your device appears in Device Manager but is not recognised by your software (e.g. Components, Ableton Live, etc), make sure to install the latest Novation USB driver from your device's Downloads page:

It's also worth ensuring the Easy Start/Mass Storage Device (MSD) mode is set to Off: How to stop your Novation product from appearing as a Mass Storage Device
If your device does not appear in Device Manager, please test another USB cable (no longer than two meters/six feet), and all the USB ports available on the computer.
If you are still unable to see your device, please Contact Support.
